DREWLEC Electrical Services, part of the Drewitt Group in Bournemouth, is celebrating 50 years in business.
Since 1964 the firm has provided electrical services to commercial clients across Dorset, Hampshire and southern central England.
Drewlec expanded and developed its expertise in the early 1990s by adding the installation and maintenance of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems to its offering. The firm has recently completed the installation of a new fire alarm system in Poole’s Forest Holme Hospice.
To help celebrate its anniversary, Drewlec is sponsoring the Bournemouth Hospital Charity and Macmillan Caring Locally ‘Light up the Prom’ event on Friday, October 24, at Bournemouth Pier.
The Drewitt Group is run by brother and sister Richard and Gillian Drewitt.
Gillian said: “Fifty years is a fantastic milestone for Drewlec and we are proud of what we have achieved in that time. We pride ourselves on providing a high quality service and we are lucky to have had a dedicated and skilled workforce to represent our business.
“The Drewitt Group’s origins are firmly rooted in the construction industry but for the past 30 years we have switched the focus of the business from construction to electrical and fire alarm services, building maintenance, repair and refurbishment and more recently plumbing and heating services. We now work closely with facilities managers, architects and surveyors to provide a co-ordinated service.”
The Drewitt Group was founded in 1877 and combines Drewlec Electrical Services, Drewsons Building Maintenance and Drewsons Plumbing and Heating Services.
