A VICAR from Branksome is hosting a group course for people dealing with separation and divorce starting next month.

The Reverend Charlie Boyle from All Saints Church, on Western Road, is leading the Restored Lives: Recovery from Divorce and Separation course, running from Wednesday, October 1, at 7pm, for six weeks.

Reverend Boyle, now happily married to Sarah, with whom he has three children, has been through divorce and wants to offer help to others in handling the trauma and loss felt by those involved.

He said: “I was at a very low point when I went through the divorce. If only one person doesn’t have to feel the same by coming to the course, then it will be worth it.

“It’s all about giving hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel and aims to offer a lifeline to people in a moment of crisis.

“Although the course will be run by people associated with All Saints Church, anyone from any faith or background is invited to come along.”

Mr Boyle has previously held the course at his last church in Cornwall, which will also focus on dealing with emotions, communication, conflict resolution, parenting, the legal issues and more.

He will be assisted by former GP, Dr Alison Blakeway, single mum Heather Beatty and family solicitor Chantal Findlay to help deliver the course Heather said: “The communication side of the course will offer a useful toolbox for how to continue managing some kind of relationship with the mother or father of your children.

She added: “Some topics people will personally feel ready for and others they may not, but we don’t want that to put people off.

“It’s also about dealing with the emotions of others and to balance that with moving forward in the best possible way.”

Heather also added that they may be able to help people who wish to attend the course, but may experience difficulty with childcare arrangements.

Cost is £15 per person for the course, which includes a meal and for more information, email restoredlivesdorset@outlook. com
