A heavy police presence in Pokesdown last night was in repsonse to fans leaving the Cherries v Reading match, the force said.
Police dog handlers were deployed at Pokesdown railway station to disperse football fans at around 10pm last night.
Around four police cars were at the scene following AFC Bournemouth's 3-0 win over Reading. Police said no offences were committed.
Several readers who saw the officers contacted the Echo to ask if an incident had occurred.
