GCSE and A level students in Dorset achieve better results than national average
STUDENTS across Dorset achieved better than average GCSE and A level results, it has been confirmed.
The Department for Education has released moderated results from this summer’s exams.
It revealed that nationally 52.6 per cent of students gained the benchmark standard of at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C, including English and maths, a drop of seven per cent on the previous year.
The figures for Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset local authorities were 59.9, 56 and 58 respectively. The England average A-level point score was 698.5 with the figures for Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset at 755.3, 782.2 and 744.5.
League tables detailing results for individual schools will be released by the government in January.
