POOLE Park’s revamped attraction, The Ark, has unveiled plans for a Christmas extravaganza.

The venue, which was relaunched last year, is planning a Christmas Grotto in the park, which will see the cricket pavilion turned into a winter log cabin, home to Father Christmas and his elves, from November 27 until Christmas Eve.

Funded by The Ark, the grotto will be operating as a not-for-profit initiative, with all the profits benefiting Fernheath Play, the Bournemouth-based charity that provides specialist free play and short play breaks to both fully able and disabled children.

Sarah de Lisle, owner, said: “The Ark has quickly built a reputation for providing first class family entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of Poole Park.

“We’re delighted to be hosting a dedicated festive grotto in the park’s cricket pavilion this year after working closely with the council in what is a natural evolution for us.

“We’ve enjoyed a fantastic first year at The Ark and our aim is to deliver the same quality offering at our Christmas attraction; providing an authentic, magical experience for children and adults to cherish, whilst raising money for a worthy local cause.”

The Ark opened in December 2013 following an investment of more than £1.4million by Richard and Sarah de Lisle.

It saw the tired facilities given a new lease of life and The Ark is home to a soft play area, cafe, ice cream parlour and ice rink.

The Christmas event costs £12 per child and booking is essential.
