Think Dorset’s attractions are just for visitors? Then think again as this Dorset Residents’ Week locals are being given the chance to get out and visit all those places they’ve been meaning to see at a reduced price.

More than 50 attractions across Dorset are offering promotions and discounts until Sunday as part of the Visit Dorset promotion.

All you need to do to take advantage of them is simply cut out the vouchers and take them to the participating venues. You can see the full list of places taking part here

Here’s a look at a selection of what’s on offer.

Bournemouth Echo:

1. See the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans where all this week. Two adults can gain entry to Abbotsbury Swannery for the price of one. Open 10am – 5pm. Last admissions one hour before closing.

2. You can get 4 hrs parking for the price of 2 (that works out at just £2) at Durlston Country Park. Castle and visitor centre open every day 10am-5pm. Café open 9.30am-4.30pm. The park is open from dawn until dusk.

Bournemouth Echo:

3. Fancy a day at Adventure Wonderland? One person can get free entry with every 2 full paying entrants. Open 10am-6pm. Last entry 4pm

4. Adults can get 2 for 1 entry at Farmer Palmers. Open daily from 10am- 5:30pm.

5. Get up close to creatures of the deep at Weymouth Sea Life Park. It's home to more than 1,000 incredible creatures from sharks to spider crabs. Open daily from 10am-5pm. And check out the Dorset coastline with a bird's eye view in the Sea Life Tower. 

6. Take to the water with City Cruises Poole with a 2for1 on boat trips from Poole Quay and Swanage Pier. Valid on our Harbour Cruises, Poole & Swanage Day Cruises and Jurassic Coast 2hr cruises. Present your voucher at the kiosk. Open 9am to 5.30pm daily.

7. Learn about the history of tanks from WW1 to the present day for a cut price at The Tank Museum as two adults can go for the price of one. Open 10am-5pm

8. Get 2 for 1 entry to historic Lulworth Castle & Park. Open Monday 20 – 26 April (closed Saturday 25 April)

9. Take in the Purbeck countryside on the Swanage Railway and save money with a 2 for 1 on adult fares. Open 10am-5pm

10. Adventurers can try their hand at outdoor rock climbing at Dancing Ledge. Appetite for Adventure is offering two adults a half-day taster session for the price of one. Bookings MUST be made in advance.

11. Discover the historic Digby stately home built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594 at a reduced price. Sherborne Castle is offering £2.50 off the full adult admission for castle and gardens entry. Open 11am to 4.30pm (last entry) except Monday and Friday.

12. See fossils, skeletons and skulls, alongside life-size dinosaur reconstructions at Dorchester Dinosaur Museum. Adults can get 2 for 1 entry until Sunday. Open daily 10am-5pm.

13. Dorset Heavy Horse Farm Park & Rescue Centre is offering a 10% discount on adult or child tickets (excludes concessions and family tickets) Open 10am – 4.30pm. Closed Mondays.

14. Take a tour of Kingston Lacy where adults can enjoy 2 for 1 entry all week. House opens 11am – 4pm (guided tours only Monday and Tuesday). Grounds, shop and restaurant open 10.30am – 5.30pm.

15. The award-winning Dorset County Museum, which boasts a Victorian Hall with Roman mosaic floors, Thomas Hardy’s study and Jurassic Coast Gallery, is offering 2 for 1 entry for adults. Up to two accompanied children will also go free. Open Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm.
