A planned rail strike by the RMT and TSSA trade unions has been called off.
Widespread disruption had been expected, with South West Trains advising that no trains would run from 5pm on Monday.
However both unions have now agreed to call the strike off.
The suspension of industrial action means that South West Trains are able to continue with the May promotion, allowing children to travel for just £1 during May half term.
