A WOMAN blinded a man in one eye during a sickening stiletto attack at a popular Bournemouth nightspot.

Detectives said the "violent attack" took place at Le Chic bar, in Old Christchurch Road, after the pair became involved in an early hours altercation.

Police say the woman removed her stiletto shoe and hit the 27-year-old Bournemouth man around the head with it three times, forcing him to the floor.

It was the third strike with the shoe that caused serious injuries, leaving him permanently blind in one eye.

Detective Constable Scott Brimicombe, of Bournemouth CID, said: "Following my investigation, I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of the suspect.

"This was a violent attack which left the victim permanently blind in one eye. I would urge anyone who recognises the woman to please call me in confidence."

The attack took place at Le Chic around 2.20am on Sunday, May 31. However, Dorset Police only released the CCTV footage of the woman they'd like to speak to on Thursday, July 2.

Det Con Brimicombe said: "All calls will be treated in strict confidence."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 31:56.
