A MAN who admitted carrying out a terrifying hit-and-run attack outside a Bournemouth nightspot has been told in court to expect a lengthy prison term.

Dean Cambage admitted one charge of grievous bodily harm with intent, and pleaded guilty to one count of the lesser charge of grievous bodily harm at Bournemouth Crown Court.

Remanding him back into custody, Judge Peter Johnson told Cambage he wanted time to consider how much of a danger he posed before passing sentence.

Cambage, who spoke to only confirm his name and enter his pleas, is scheduled to reappear before Judge Johnson for sentencing at the end of July.

Dorset Police charged Cambage with dangerous driving and two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent in February this year, after he was arrested in London more than five months after the shocking incident outside Poole Hill's Winchester Pub.

Detectives had offered a £3,000 reward for help to track down the 32-year-old Bournemouth man after he disappeared following the attack.

Emergency services were called to Poole Hill at 4.30am on Sunday, August 24, after Cambage repeatedly drove a BMW car into pedestrians on the pavement, following an argument at the popular venue.

He fled the scene before police arrived and the BMW car was discovered abandoned on East Overcliff Drive a short time later.

In the aftermath of the incident, two people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jordan March, 22, suffered bruising to her body, while Mark Berry, the 51-year-old manager of the Winchester, suffered a head wound.

He needed 30 stitches to his face and suffered a fractured wrist and injuries to his chin.

Cambage's Bournemouth Crown Court sentencing is scheduled for July 31
