POLICE have arrested six Iranians on suspicion of entering the UK illegally after an incident at a service station.

Officers were called to the scene at Stoney Cross services on the A31 in the early hours of this morning before contacting Home Office immigration officers.

Two men, two women and two children were arrested at the scene and an investigation has been launched.

A Home Office spokesman said: “The group comprised two men, aged 35 and 25, two women aged 34 and 25, and two minors.

“All but the 25-year-old woman have been temporarily released and must report to the Home Office regularly while their cases are considered. If it is found they have no right to remain they will face removal from the UK.
