A MAN alleged to have robbed a man from Poole along with others has been found not guilty.

David Alexander Estridge, aged 22, of Grovely Avenue, Bournemouth, was acquitted by jury at Dorchester Crown Court on Friday.

Estridge was on trial after being charged with one count of robbery.

The charge, which Estridge denied, related to an incident that occurred on April 6 last year at Newfoundland House, The Quay, Poole.

He was alleged with others to have robbed Toby Adams of an Xbox, Playstation and computer games.

On April 6 last year, just after 11.15pm, a group of men, who had their faces covered, carried out a robbery at Adams’ flat, the court was told.

James Newton-Price, prosecuting, said Estridge had been identified as one of the men at the scene of the incident in CCTV footage taken from Newfoundland House.

Estridge told the court he visited the flat to buy cannabis and that he had no intention of taking anything or harming anyone.

He also told the court he was ‘bundled’ into the flat because of those behind him and that whilst he was inside the flat at the time, he didn’t do anything.

After deliberating for two hours and 56 minutes, the jury found Estridge not guilty.

Estridge had been on trial with Jamil David Tinsley, aged 19, of Wimborne Road, Poole, who faced the same charge.

Tinsley, however, was discharged on Thursday after Judge Jonathan Fuller QC reviewed the evidence against him and directed the jury to enter a not guilty plea.
