HUNDREDS of people donned their antlers and running shoes for the annual RNLI Reindeer Run.

The event at Moors Valley Country Park on Sunday saw around 600 people take to the tracks with mascots Rookie and Stormy.

It is hoped the festive event in aid of the maritime rescue charity will raise around £10,000 for the organisation.

The event returned to Moors Valley last year after a two year break.

Sarah Goddard, event volunteer, said: "The event was a great success.

"Around 600 people turned out, and we're hoping to raise thousands of pounds.

"It's a great start to the festive period.

Bournemouth Echo:

"We'd like to thank everyone that came along and of course Moors Valley for letting us hold it here."

Young and old took part in the event, with all participants receiving a free RNLI Reindeer Run T-shirt and antlers as part of the run, which included a 10km and a 5km course.

A special warm-up was held for the runners to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
