ORGANISERS of this year’s Poole Harbour Boat Show have confirmed a number of high-profile sponsors for the event.

Leading the pack for 2016 is luxury yacht builder Sunseeker, which recently announced it would be hiring 225 skilled staff this year.

The boatbuilder’s latest flagship 155 Yacht, only the second one it has constructed, emerged form its boat shed for the first time last month.

Sunseeker marketing manager Bryan Jones said: “Sunseeker are extremely proud of their Dorset heritage so we are delighted to be associated with our local boat show.

“We look forward to delivering an even better Sunseeker Sessions live music stage to showcase amazing local bands, acts and performances in what promises to be an entertaining boat show for all the family.”

The show, organised by the Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC), is scheduled to take place for three days from May 20.

Other sponsors confirmed for the prestigious show include the Westover Group, Coleman's Insurance, Humphries Kirk, Sibbett Gregory, PSP Logistics, Elite Signs and Bates Wharf.

Further sponsors are yet to be officially confirmed.

Harbour Commissioners chief executive Jim Stewart said: “We’re delighted to announce such a fantastic array of sponsors for the 2016 show and wish to thank them for their support.

“Poole is renowned for its superb harbour, excellent watersports and internationally and nationally successful marine industries.

“The Poole Harbour Boat Show in association with Sunseeker provides a first-class platform to showcase the area’s excellence,” he added.

The first Poole Harbour Boat Show, held last May, attracted an estimated 15,000 people and received “universally positive” feedback, according to its organisers.
