JULIA’S House has organised a new cycle challenge ahead of the opening of its new Wiltshire-based hospice.

The hospice to hospice cycle ride will run from the charity’s hospice in Corfe Mullen to Devizes, where it is building its new hospice.

The event will take place on Sunday, June 12.

Cyclists can choose between a one-way 100km (62mile) route and a round trip of 200km (124miles).

Hannah Miller, events fundraiser at Julia’s House, said: “We are really excited about this new event; it’s going to be a lot of fun and we hope it will become a key date in our events calendar for years to come.”

Cyclists of all abilities are being encouraged to sign up for the inaugural ride. In return they will benefit from free transport for their bike back to the start line, chipped timing for the 200km ride and refreshments.

There will also be free training rides in the New Forest for participants on the first Sunday of every month and a free cycling jersey will be sent to all cyclists when they reach £200 in sponsorship.

One of the charity’s corporate sponsors, Vitality, is the main sponsor for the event. It is also being sponsored by investment management company Quilter Cheviot.
