ARMED police and the NPAS helicopter were involved in an arrest in Charminster yesterday afternoon.
Seven marked cars, as well as unmarked vehicles, lined up along Portchester Road as armed officers appeared to target a residential property.
The police dog unit was also at the scene and residents reported seeing the NPAS helicopter flying over the area as part of the investigation. Sometime after 3pm a person was seen being led out of a house.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Following a call made to Dorset Police at 8.15am on Monday morning, police attended an address on Portchester Road.
"A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and is currently in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing."
