The police helicopter assisted Dorset Police with a search for a suspect over the weekend after an 'assault'.

Officers were called to an address in Ashley Road, Parkstone, in the early hours of Sunday morning after reports of an attack.

Officers have not yet been able to track him down.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “The police helicopter assisted with a search for a man wanted on suspicion of an assault.

“The assault occurred at an address in Ashley Road, Poole, at around 12.30am.

“Enquiries are still ongoing to locate him.”

On Sunday night the crew were also up over Wallisdown in a hunt for a suspect.

No-one was arrested as a result of either search.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “It’s an ongoing investigation and no information will be released to the media at this time.”

Earlier on Saturday night the helicopter helped in the arrest of three men after police were called to a burglary in progress in Kinson.
