FIRE crews were called to rescue a resident trapped in their flat by a fallen tree.
A crew from Christchurch were called to the property in Highview Close just after 12.30pm today, Monday.
According to a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson, the crew removed a large fir tree which had fallen onto the building.
"There was no mention of any damage to the building, but some of the branches were blocking the entrance to one of the flats," she added.
"The team cut away the branches that were blocking the entrance to gain access to the flat.
"A tree surgeon has been contacted to remove the trunk."
