THERE will be fun for all the family at an event organised by the county’s emergency services today.

Head along to Poole Park from 11am, and find out what it takes to be a firefighter, paramedic or police officer.

The annual event is organised by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, working with a range of partners including Dorset Police, Dorset’s Police & Crime Commissioner, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and the SafeWise charity.

The free admission show will be opened at 11am by the Chairman of Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority, Cllr Rebecca Knox, and the Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner, Martyn Underhill.

Last year's event attracted almost 5,000 people.

A busy programme of demonstrations will run throughout the day until the event closes at 4pm.

Attractions will include: police dogs CPR awareness, police drones, chip pan fire and real fire, animal rescue, sprinklers, line rescue, electrical safety, water rescue and multi-agency road traffic collision simulation.

As well as displays and information stands from the three main emergency services, a range of community groups and charities will also be in attendance. Any proceeds will benefit SafeWise.
