THE Ministry of Defence has said security is kept under “constant review” after two security scares at military sites.
Armed police and a police helicopter were scrambled to Bulford Camp, Wiltshire, on Wednesday evening after three people were reportedly seen with a knife.
On Wednesday, a serviceman was threatened with a knife in an attempted abduction while jogging near RAF Marham in Norfolk.
Attempts were made to grab him but the man fought them off and escaped unharmed. Norfolk Police said it could not discount terrorism as a motive.
Dorset home is to the Royal Marine base at Hamworthy, where the Special Boat Service is also based, as well as Bovington and Lulworth camps and Blandford Camp, home of the Royal Signals.
An Army spokesperson said: "The security of our personnel and their families is of paramount importance and kept under constant review. We do not comment on specific security arrangements."
