DORSET'S police and crime commissioner has implemented eight key manifesto pledges within his first 100 days of office.
Martyn Underhill has introduced a 101 service improvement panel, launched a charity focused on crime prevention, increased the number of officers dealing with cases of online child abuse and funded an extra post in the marine unit to maintain cover across two separate shifts.
He has also implemented a rural crime team, commissioned a report on energy efficiency and invested the force's finances into drug driving kits.
Mr Underhill said: “Achieving these first eight commitments is a stepping stone onto further work I outlined throughout my manifesto and I am grateful for the force’s support.
"Some of the longer term objectives I have for this term include moving the police complaints process into my office, reducing the number of victims of crime and reoffending rates in Dorset, protecting those members of our community that are more at risk and increasing overall police officer numbers.”
