A WOMAN has suffered a suspected head injury after falling from her bike in Bournemouth.
The incident occurred at 6.33pm on Sunday night in Meyrick Park Crescent near the junction with Wimborne Road.
Witnesses said the woman was cycling with her boyfriend when she fell, wounding her head. It is not thought that she was seriously injured.
Residents rushed out to help and called 999, remaining by her side until paramedics arrived.
Police officers carried out first aid until paramedics arrived with a stretcher. The victim was conscious.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said the 24-year-old local woman lost control of her bike and went over the handlebars. No other vehicle was involved.
A South Western Ambulance spokesperson said they had the incident recorded as a bike being involved in a collision with a car.
The spokesperson added the woman was taken to Poole Hospital.
