DOZENS of people have been teaming up to help find missing Beagle Eva who disappeared more than a week ago.

Eva, who is five-years-old, went missing during a walk around the Wilverley Inclosure in Brockenhurst on Saturday, August 20.

Owner Sharon Gregory has been left heartbroken by her disappearance and has launched a social media campaign in the hope that it will help find her.

So far a Facebook group dedicated to finding Eva has already attracted nearly 400 members and posts about the missing pooch have been shared hundreds of times on the social media site.

Sharon, who lives in New Milton, was walking Eva and her other Beagle Harley around 9.30am.

During the walk the dogs ran off through the woods and according to Sharon they usually come back within a few minutes

However after 15 minutes neither dog had returned to their owner.

“We decided we would walk around the inclosure and see if we could cut them off,” explained Sharon, 45.

“After about an hour and 15 minutes Harley appeared really scared and shaken, but there was no sign of Eva, and I haven’t seen her since.

“One runner told me they had seen her cross the road towards Yew Tree Bottom but once I arrived there was no sign of her.”

After hours of searching Sharon returned home feeling “absolutely heartbroken” but determined not to give up.

She camped out overnight at the car park near the entrance to the inclosure on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday night last week in the hopes that Eva would try and make her way back to the car.

“I have also been leaving nightdresses and cardigans at the site hoping she would be able to pick up the smell,” said Sharon.

“On Tuesday night I even left Eva’s bed at the car park but unfortunately when we arrived there on Wednesday morning it had been stolen.

“It’s just really distressing and I’m heartbroken. I just want her home.”

However for the most part Sharon, her son Hayden and daughter Jodie, have been overwhelmed by the help and support they have received.

As well as the support on social media Sharon has also been helped by local dog walkers and residents who live nearby to the site.

“People have been signing up to help search the area and we have had numerous sightings phoned in,” she added.

“So far she has been spotted at Wootton Bridge, Yew Tree Bottom and Longslade Bottom and heath.

“We just need to keep up the search and I am hopeful that eventually we will be able to get Eva home.”
