HUNDREDS of people brought their four-legged friends to a charity dog show in Southbourne.

The sixth annual Bark in the Park took place in Fisherman's Walk.

The event run by the Friends of Fisherman's Walk in association with the good cause, Pound Puppy Animal Rescue, was attended by an estimated 300 people.

Fun classes that dogs and their owners could enter included best puppy, best child handler, dog in best condition, best bull terrier and dog the judge most wants to take home.

Jayne Gooderson, who runs the charity, said: "It's not just about fundraising and raising awareness because it's also fun for the dogs and supports the Friends of Fisherman's Walk.

"It's amazing because we get to see a lot of the dogs which have been rehomed. The owners bring them to the event to show me how they are getting on. It's what we do it for."

Dogs which have been rescued include a five-old Bichon Frise named Teddy, who was saved from a puppy farm along with his sibling aged just six weeks old.
