TWO prestigious cricket trophies made an appearance at Bournemouth ahead of a high profile Twenty20 double-header between Southern Vipers and Hampshire Hawks.

Both sides were keen to celebrate their success with supporters across the region before the season gets underway, including in Dorset which the Vipers represent.

The trophies were taken on a tour of the area, including on Bournemouth beach, with supporters given clues on social media as to where the next location would be.

Those who guessed correctly were then in with a chance of winning tickets to a champions day double-header at The Ageas Bowl on Friday, May 26.

Greig Stewart, head of customer experience at The Ageas Bowl, said: “It is a fantastic time to be a cricket fan in this part of the world, with both domestic Twenty20 champions based locally.

“We wanted supporters to be able to share in celebrating our success by taking the trophies out on tour across the region and it was great to visit Bournemouth beach and give fans the chance to win free tickets.

“Our free shuttle buses from Southampton Airport Parkway before Vitality Blast games will be running again this season.”
