A BUMPER line-up of new entertainment has been announced for the popular sand polo championships coming to Sandbanks beach next month.

The 16th Sandpolo event takes place on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8, from 1pm until midnight, with almost 8,000 people set to attend.

Founder Johnny Wheeler said: “This year we have a packed arena action programme with the addition of a breath-taking horse stunt riding act from the globally-renowned Knights of Middle England, before and after the polo.

“We also welcome back the Audi 4x4 (v) polo pony charity race in aid of the Lewis Manning Hospice.

“It is such a worthy cause and everyone is so generous with their donations.”

Friday night’s Boogie on the Beach spectacular will see entertainment from headline act, Mica Paris, who is known as the ‘Queen of UK Soul’.

Organisers have described the event as a “fabulous soul, town and disco party”.

Then on the Saturday night, Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp hosts the Sandpolo Closing Party alongside a star-studded cast of live performers.

While the ‘beach vibe’ has many guests dancing during the day, the after parties continue to have an extraordinary energy, with a packed dance floor spilling out onto the sand.

Launched in 2008, Sandpolo features a mix of world-class polo, fashion, food and entertainment, as well as fine dining in the hospitality marquee.

Mr Wheeler added: “The amazing Sandpolo team are now finishing the office admin before heading to Sandbanks, the polo players and horses are training hard, and ticket holders are starting to think about how to win the best dressed competition!

“We take the responsibility of now being seen as a highlight in the Dorset sporting and social calendar very seriously and are always looking to improve all elements of the event. Sandpolo 2023 is a VIP experience for everyone.

“Can’t wait to see you on the beach in July.”

The last remaining tickets can be purchased from £40 at sandpolo.com.
