CHRISTMAS IS coming to Bournemouth this year.

That’s the message from events company Seventa Events as it announces the return of the town’s festivities this holiday season.

Taking place every day between Friday, November 17 and Monday, January 1 (apart from Christmas Day), the popular Christmas Tree Wonderland trail will be making a comeback to the Lower Gardens along with the two-storey Alpine Lodge Bar and Christmas market featuring more than 40 traders in the Square, and SKATE outdoor ice rink.

Bournemouth Echo:

As reported earlier this week, BCP Council announced it was axing Christmas lights in Bournemouth and Christchurch as a cost cutting measure.

Bournemouth Town Centre BID has since stepped in to save the lights in Bournemouth town centre.

Simon Brooks, director of Seventa Events, said: “There has been some misunderstanding about Bournemouth Christmas lights being cancelled.

"The Town Centre did have some funding cuts, which affected areas of high street lighting, however, Paul Kinvig and the BID have rescued this.

“It is with great pleasure that we are also able to announce the dates for Christmas In Bournemouth 2023.

"Bournemouth plays host to a Christmas Market, the Christmas Tree Wonderland garden lights trail, and the outdoor SKATE Ice Rink. Which are ALL happening this year.

"We look forward to welcoming locals and visitors to Christmas in Bournemouth.”

Christmas market traders will include; a luxury hot chocolate stall courtesy of Norris & Binglewort of Christchurch, handmade pizzas by Bournemouth restaurateurs El Murrino, craft gifts from local South Coast Makers Market, sweet treats by Bournemouth Brownie Company, and plant-based food made by vegan brand Mighty Weiners.

Mr Brooks added: “We have some fantastic local businesses involved in this event, including the supply of equipment, local retailers, independent makers, and food traders at the Christmas Market, as well as local creatives with our largest-ever line-up of Alpine Lodge events for all ages.

“As a local events company, we love to bring life and activity to Bournemouth over the Winter period and always look forward to seeing the festive activities bringing joy to people. It is a magical time of year, watching families enjoy the free to attend lights and events.”

Christmas in Bournemouth runs daily from 11am to 11pm apart from Christmas Day.

The Alpine Lodge will be open from 11am to 11pm, food huts from 11am to 10pm and retail huts between 11am and 8pm (7pm on Sundays).
