A POPULAR fireworks display will light up the skies next month with organisers hoping for the 'biggest turn out yet'.

Ringwood Grand Fireworks takes place on Carvers Recreation Ground on Sunday, November 5.

Organised by Ringwood Town Council, the event features two firework displays, fire shows, a fairground, children’s circus workshops, plus live music from Swing Unlimited Big Band.

Clllr Rae Frederick, chair of the events committee for Ringwood Town Council and deputy town mayor, said: “This is one of the favourite dates in the Ringwood events calendar and this year even coincides with Guy Fawkes night.”

Advanced tickets are £2.50 and will be available from Carvers Clubhouse and Ringwood Gateway until November 3.

On the gate tickets are £5 and entry is free for pre-schoolers, people with disabilities, and their carers.

Gates open at 3pm for the fairground, children’s entertainment, food, and drink stalls.

A ‘low bangs’ display starts at 5.30pm followed by Swing Unlimited Big Band from 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit around 6.15pm with the main display at 7pm.

Cllr Frederick added: “As ever, we work hard to keep our tickets prices as low as possible for the benefit of our local community and want to thank our major sponsor, Fretten’s Solicitors for their support in helping us achieve this.

"We also want to say thank you to the many local charities who help us with events including the Rotary Club of Ringwood, Ringwood and District Roundtable, Men’s Shed and Ringwood Carnival. We couldn’t do it without you.”

There will be plenty of food options on site including Yorkshire pudding wraps, bratwurst, pizza as well as sweet treats.

The Roundtable will be running a bar where all profits go to support local charities and activities in the area.
