A NIGHT packed with smash hits, striking visuals and slick dance moves - JLS gave Bournemouth fans exactly what they wanted.
Last night saw the return of JLS to the Bournemouth International Centre with ‘The Hits Tour’.
The London boy band were back in the town after major success with their comeback tour in 2021.
Thousands of ticket holders flocked the venue, with the most hardcore fans rocking their best JLS merchandise and carrying signs to get the boys’ attention.
Kicking the night off, support act Shab treated audiences to energetic performances.
Shab brought a particularly incredible story with her to the stage; the rising star had arrived in America as a refugee from the fundamentalist Revolution in Iran, before studying and then leaving school to peruse writing and music.
Her debut album ‘INFINITE LOVE’, released during February 2021, proved a hit with critics praising her unique electronic dance sound.
Shab's supporting performance at the BIC exceeded all expectations - it was lively, sharp and truly effortless.
A set from pop-star Tinchy Stryder followed, and then it was go time for JLS.
Fans roared as the lights went dim, before the stage was flooded with a striking light display, and a faint instrumental began.
The screams only got louder when the four band members appeared as silhouettes on the stage, and the intro to ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ burst in.
This first song truly set the tone for the night - as the boys’ sprung around the stage, rocking sharp choreography, cheesy grins, and impressive vocals.
The energy stayed high as JLS then sang some of their best hits including ‘Hottest Girl In The World’, ‘Do You Feel What I Feel’ and ‘One Shot’, with breaks in between for the boys to interact with fans, and make quick outfit changes.
For the performance of ‘I Know What She Likes’, two lucky supporters were brought on stage and serenaded by the band.
Fans also enjoyed songs from JLS’ 2021 album 2.0, although the night largely felt like a celebration of the boys’ past successes.
Each song had its own dedicated background, with the band singing in front of artsy patterns, lyric displays, close up shots, or montages of fan photos.
A unique addition to the tour was a DJ set, which saw a haul of other popular artists’ played as band member Oritse left the stage and ran through the crowds.
Then came fan favourites ‘Beat Again’ and ‘She Makes Me Wanna’ - two performances in which the boys’ were almost out-sung by the audience.
The energy dropped towards the end of the set list, as JLS belted their popular ballad ‘Love you More’, before concluding with ‘Everybody in Love’.
Confetti showered onto the stage as the final lyrics were sung, and fans’ knew their long-awaited night was coming to an end.
JLS truly rocked the stage at the BIC, and made sure every song was performed with passion - and their ever-popular cheesy dance moves.
