Councillor Millie Earl, deputy leader of BCP Council, said: “This is the last fireworks display of the year on Poole Quay, so I’d encourage everyone to come down and enjoy all the entertainment on offer and support our fantastic local hospitality businesses on the quay and throughout Poole, before viewing the spectacular fireworks.”

The display marks the close of a series of events that have taken place on Poole Quay over the summer and into autumn.

Managed by BCP Council, the events were sponsored by Poole businesses including Lord Nelson (which also sponsored September Dream Machines), City Experiences, Poole Arms, Custom House, Deli on the Quay, St Tropez, Oriel, Dorset Cruises, Poole Pirates Speedway (sponsors of Quay for my Car), Quay Amusements, Dolphin Quays, Da Vincis, and Greenslade Pleasure Boats.

After the firework display next month, Poole will step into Christmas with the return of its Poole Christmas Maritime Light Trail from Saturday, November 25.

The free trail, which is now in its second year, will run until Tuesday, January 2.

The maritime-themed spectacle will run from Falkland Square through the High Street and onto Poole Quay.

This year’s event will feature a number of light installations, including a galleon, a walk-through lantern and bauble.

New for this year will be a two-metre Poole lettering which will welcome visitors to the Quay by the sea music sculpture.

The opening night, on November 25, will feature Santa walking through the town and onto a City Cruise boat on Poole Quay.
