A MAJOR and “special” new music festival is to come to a popular Bournemouth park next year after years in the pipeline.
Up to 10,000 people are expected to flock to the two-day music festival taking place in Boscombe’s Kings Park during the first May bank holiday of 2024.
A weekend promising to sizzle, the festival, called Kings Park Festival, will be a celebration of music, life and love, according to its organiser.
It will be a multi-arena, multi-genre event hosted in the park, which also plays home to Premiership football team AFC Bournemouth.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 2024.
Festival founder and organiser Ty Temel said he is “absolutely buzzing” to kickstart the festival in its inaugural year.
The entrepreneur said: “The plans for this event have been in the pipeline for a few years now. In total, it has been three years in the making and has finally got the green light.

“I’m thrilled that we can now share our vision, to create and cultivate a special event in Bournemouth with a real festival community feel.
“Our experienced core event team have already been working hard behind the scenes to curate some fantastic arenas and incredible line-ups.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to get this launched and see it grow as something firmly on the Bournemouth map year-on-year.”
It is unclear who will be featuring at the two-day event, but Ty said there is work going on behind the scenes to get a line-up ready for May.
Ty is well-known in the leisure and hospitality sector in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole: he is the chief executive of Halo nightclub in Bournemouth town centre as well as chief executive of Sandfest and Sandpolo in Sandbanks.
He’s also an ambassador of mental health charity Dorset Mind and has set up his own podcast called Off Script, which has seen him interview former special forces soldier Ant Middleton and comedian Dapper Laughs.
