THE headline act for a popular Poole music festival has been announced by the organiser.
Grime artist Dizzee Rascal is set to perform at the Sandbanks festival, SandFest in 2024.
Most famous for his 2009 hit Bonkers, as well as Holiday and Bassline Junkie, the 39-year-old will be at the event on Sunday, July 14 next year.
Festival organiser Ty Temel said: “Absolutely buzzing to have secured this headliner; the energy he will bring to the beach will be incredible.
“He doesn’t do many shows of this size with a run of sold-out arena shows in 2023 [so] we are extremely lucky to have secured him to play on Sandbanks beach next July.
“Sandbanks is a place he particularly likes and has visited before.
“Also, just wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our SandFest supporters, in just six years we have built such a loyal following which has allowed us to massively up our booking game.
“Craig David headlined 2023 and Dizzee Rascal headlines 2024, these are global superstars in our home town on our beaches. Incredible.”
Each year SandFest attracts up to 5,000 music fans and partygoers who are entertained by a number of global artists.
Acts that have played SandFest since its inception have included Jax Jones, Clean Bandit, Rudimental, Faithless, Idris Elba, Chase and Status and Hannah Wants.
