POLICE officers helped nightclub staff eject a man from a nightclub who was believed to be drunk.

As reported, officers were seen outside Cameo nightclub on Saturday night at around 11pm.

Dorset Police has confirmed that this was in relation to a ‘routine ejection’ of a man who was believed to be drunk.

A spokesperson for the county force said: “We have now had it confirmed from officers that this incident related to a routine ejection of a man who was believed to be intoxicated from the premises that occurred at around 11pm on Saturday 16 March 2024.

“Officers who were in the area as part of our regular Operation Nightjar night time economy patrols in the town centre were passing the premises and assisted staff from the club with removing the man from the premises and remained at the scene for a short time to ensure there was no breach of the police.

“There was no indication or evidence of any involvement of a knife whatsoever and the man left the area once directed by police.”
