A MAN aged in his 70s was assaulted and had his bank card stolen which was then used at shops nearby.

At around 3pm on Sunday, March 17, the victim was assaulted in Lindsay Road in Poole, near to the junction with Wilderton Road.

He had a black leather pouch which was stolen, and this contained his bank card which was then used for a number of transactions at various shops in the area.

The victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

The offender was riding a bike and is described as white, aged in his 20s, well built and with blond hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and light blue jeans.

Officers investigating the robbery are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

Police constable Alex Parsons, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible for this robbery and I would like to hear from any witnesses who were in the area and may have seen what happened.

“I would also urge motorists who were driving in the area and have dashcam fitted, as well as residents in the vicinity with home CCTV systems, to please review their footage from around the time of the incident to see if they have captured anything that might assist our investigation.”
