A BOURNEMOUTH woman who has created mental health fitness sessions for supporting new mums is Daily Echo’s Trader of the Week.

Sarah Scudamore lives with her husband Nic and two children, Coen and Amelia.

She is also the founder of Mumology Movement, a postnatal safe exercise class where new mums can come and meet other mums, feel more connected, improve their fitness, and help their bodies heal to feel strong again, whilst supporting their own mental well-being.

Sarah has also partnered with Buggyfit, the UK's biggest buggy network.

Speaking about the business, Sarah said: "I have been running Mumology Movement for six years now and recently I had the opportunity to start training with the Buggyfit franchise.

“I moved to Bournemouth about 12 years ago, and absolutely love being able to train by the sea, on the beach, overlooking the coast, watching sunrises in all weathers that the UK throws at us.

“I’ve completed my fitness, personal training, and pre and postnatal training over the years and as soon as I had my children, I knew that I wanted to help more amazing women to feel more confident moving their bodies – and so Mumology Movement was founded.”

The inspiration behind the classes came from Sarah’s personal experience, she added: “After my baby was born, I found being outdoors with the buggy, especially at the beach, really calming, and having babies that didn’t sleep well, meant that my energy levels were low.

“I also had to have a C-section, so I knew I had to somehow rebuild my strength.

“Being able to get out and exercise with friends along the promenade kept me sane and boosted my energy.

“It was just such a nice combination to help me through some challenging times.

“As soon as the opportunity came up to relaunch Buggyfit, I jumped at the chance and love seeing the gorgeous babies turn up each week.”

The weekly classes take place at Southbourne Beach and are suitable for women from eight weeks postnatally, there is no upper age limit for the babies.
