A LORRY which crashed into a hedge along the A31 is causing heavy delays in the area.
Congestion is being reported along the trunk road near Winterborne Zelston and Charborough Estate this afternoon, April 5.
Emergency services have reportedly closed the road while a Morrisons lorry in a hedge is being recovered after the crash at around 5am.
One motorist told the Bournemouth Echo's sister paper the Dorset Echo: "It looks like a Morrisons lorry has come off the road. It has gone straight into trees and bushes and some of the back of it is stuck out into the road.
"There were tyre marks and it looked like it was heading eastbound towards Wimborne. There is queuing traffic in the area."
According to the AA, the crash is causing delays of up to seven minutes for motorists.
A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at around 5am on Friday 5 April 2024 of a single vehicle collision involving a lorry on the A31 at Winterborne Zelston near to the Asda petrol station.
"No injuries reported. Recovery is being arranged for the lorry. No road closures in place."
A spokeswoman for Morrisons said: "We can confirm that one of our lorries was involved in an accident and our driver is safe and uninjured."
