A SUPERCAR and style festival that was set to take place in Bournemouth town centre has been postponed due to forecast high winds.
However, organisers have been forced to postpone the event over safety fears from forecast high winds.
Event director, Bea Sieradzka, said: “Safety is our utmost concern, and with gusts of up to 48 mph forecasted, hosting the event poses too great a risk.
“While we've been tirelessly preparing for this day, our primary focus remains the well-being of our guests and the remarkable cars on display.”
The event, which would have had complimentary entry for all and would have taken place in The Triangle and Commercial Road, will be rescheduled.
Organisers are working to find a date within the next two months and they will communicate new details as soon as possible.
It was organised with support from Bournemouth Town Centre BID.
Business liaison officer at the BID, Susie O’Neill, said: “While we are disappointed by the postponement, we fully support the decision to prioritise safety.
“We look forward to the rescheduled event and its positive impact on the community.”
Coastal Speed and Style aims to ‘merge sophistication, lifestyle and innovation’ with family-friendly entertainment.
The rescheduled event will feature a children’s play zone, live entertainment and food from local businesses, and it is partnered with Sporting Bears.
The festival has also teamed up with We Do Ethical and will plant trees based on emissions calculations from the travel of the showcased supercars.
