POLICE officers asked a rough sleeper to move following reports of anti-social behaviour.
Homeless people have reportedly been causing issues in Winton high street in Bournemouth on Thursday, April 11.
The neighbourhood policing team said it was patrolling the area “due to the number of rough sleepers being reported as causing anti-social behaviour”.
A spokesman from the team said: “We will be out on foot patrol twice daily to speak to and move on any persons who are causing issues for members of the public by begging and drinking.
“This will be an ongoing daily tasking, please come and say hello if you see us about on the high street.”
Dorset Police’s neighbourhood team added: “Whilst we celebrate that concerns around begging and homelessness have reduced in the responses, it is still a concern and much of our ASB in the town over the early part of the year reported by businesses and residents in blocks of flats, businesses and car parks is linked to these issues.
“We have brought in hot spot policing – a government funded initiative to deliver enhanced patrols to tackle violence and disorder and target in areas with high levels of anti-social behaviour.”
