Dwayne Johnson is a prankster on and off set, his San Andreas co-stars have revealed.
Director Brad Peyton, who reunites with the star for the second time since Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 2012, admitted he fell victim to one of the actor’s tricks.
“He’s a total joker on set, absolutely. You have to keep your guard up at all times – it’s not just on set. He’s always playing practical jokes,” he said.
“He did (play a joke on me) but I can’t tell you this one. It’s embarrassingly bad – he got me so bad I refuse to say it out loud in public.”
Despite the jokes, Brad has only love for Dwayne, who’s also known as The Rock.
“He’s a great guy, he’s obviously a world-class entertainer and a super talented actor,” he said.
“Beyond all that, he’s a really good guy. He’s so easy to collaborate with. I love working with him and I would do 100 or 1,000 times more.”
It was a different story for Dwayne’s co-star Alexandra Daddario, who said the actor was nothing less than “wonderful.”
“He’s just such an amazing human being – he’s so caring and kind, he’s very god-like. There were no jokes played on set on me,” she recalled.
“He was so sweet and charming. I hear he sometimes toilet papers trailers but it didn’t happen on our set unfortunately. I would have liked it.”
Carla, who has worked with Dwayne three times, added: “Third time is definitely the charm. We had a blast on this movie.”
San Andreas is in cinemas now.
