OLD Bournemouthians battled back from a rocky start to regain top spot in Dorset Sunday Division One by beating backmarkers Winton with just 11 balls to spare.
Chasing 180 for nine, openers Christian Blake and Shanthan Godula fell in quick succession to leave the title challengers reeling on 11 for two before Richard Percy (42) and James Dugan (27) settled in for a third-wicket partnership of 55.
Percy remained on the field to link up with Thomas Jeans (35) at 74 for four and doubled Old Bournemouthians’ score before Bhanu Saxena (22) and George Taylor saw them over the winning line.
St Georges (168 for six) remain on their coattails having beaten second-bottom Swanage (165 for eight) by two wickets, while fellow title rivals Dewlish didn’t play.
Elsewhere, Broadstone were wiped out for 166 as their chase of Portland RT’s 300 for eight proved in vain.
