PREMIER One champions Poole Town polished off their campaign with a nine-wicket annihilation of Broadstone at the Delph.

The hosts elected to bat first and Luke Carter (21) and Matt Jones offered moderate resistance early on.

However, when Jones was caught by skipper Kristian Wilson off the bowling of Joe Wilson, the floodgates swiftly opened.

Charlie Groves (16) was a downhearted spectator as the wickets of Aslan Abbas, Ben Simmons, Kieron Whittle and Simon Mitchell fell in rapid succession.

Poole’s charge was led by Joe Wilson (4-23), Joe Wormington (2-7) and Marais (2-20) as Broadstone were left with a meagre total of just 94 runs.

The visitors’ reply got off to the worst possible start reply when Nick Evans was caught for a duck by Rob Beck.

But that was as good as it got for Broadstone as Brewster Surridge (38*) and Mike Porter (39) raced to their target in less than 12 overs.

Meanwhile, Parley took second place in Group A following their 151-run victory over Weymouth at Dean Park.

Roshan Embalagama walloped an unbeaten 111 and Alex Nippard (81) and Rob Viney (48) contributed heavily as Parley made 305 off their 50 overs.

In reply, Weymouth struggled early on and Parley’s Jack Rowett took out the top three.

Only Kieron Womble (58*) made any serious inroads as Weymouth were stopped on 154 in the 38th over.

Rowett (5-32) and Viney (3-4) were the pick of Parley’s bowlers.

In Group B, Swanage finished top of the pile following their nine-wicket thumping of Ferndown Wayfarers.

Jake Brooks and Daryl Baines both hit 43 as Wayfarers reached 151 all-out. Swans captain Ricky King (5-28) and Mike Salmon (3-8) were rampant with the ball.

Ben Baczala (79*) and Salmon (47*) ensured the job was done quickly by Swanage.

Elsewhere, Wimborne & Colehill saw off Stalbridge by four wickets.
