THE biggest names in arrows will descend on Bournemouth in February when Premier League Darts returns to the south coast for the 10th successive year.

Reigning champion Raymond van Barneveld, fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen and 16-time world champion Phil Taylor will take to the stage at the BIC.

An annual sell-out, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) event was first held in Bournemouth in 2006, when van Barneveld hit the first of his five career nine-dart finishes.

Due to take place on Thursday, February 12, next year’s event will be the second on a 16-round circuit that is set to stop off at the likes of Liverpool, Manchester and Cardiff.

PDC chairman Barry Hearn said: "It's great to be taking Premier League Darts back to the BIC and it will be a special occasion to celebrate 10 years at what is now our longest-standing Premier League venue.

"Although the Premier League visits the UK and Ireland's biggest arenas during the four-month tour, the players always comment on the great atmosphere created by fans in Bournemouth.

"It may be one of the smallest venues, but it's always a brilliant night."

The field for the tournament has yet to be finalised but 10 players will initially compete across nine rounds, with the bottom two condemned to elimination.

The remaining eight players will then play in six further events and the top four will qualify for the play-offs at the O2 in London on May 21.

Tickets for the BIC event will go on general sale on Monday, October 6. To buy, call 0844 576 3000 or visit www.bhlivetickets.co.uk.
