ASSISTANT boss Jason Tindall hopes Cherries can capitalise on the feel-good factor bred by Saturday’s win over Wigan when they travel to in-form Derby tonight (7.45pm).

The 2-0 home success against the Latics was Cherries’ first league win since August 16 and Tindall says the camp is in good spirits ahead of the clash with the Rams.

The Dean Court outfit will come up against a side unbeaten in their last eight fixtures and vying for a top-six spot in the embryonic Championship standings.

However, Tindall is confident that Cherries can build on their weekend exploits and present plenty of problems for Steve McClaren’s play-off-chasing side.

Tindall told the Daily Echo: “I think the win gave everyone a boost, not just the players but also the fans and the people that work at the football club.

“There is a good feeling around the place now. We’ve had a good week and have shown some good consistency and, hopefully, we can keep that going.

“We’re confident that wherever we go, we can perform and win games. If you win back-to-back games in this division, all of a sudden you shoot up.

“We’re in a little bit of a false position in terms of what our performances deserve but if we can maintain the level we have shown recently, we will soon climb the table.

Tindall and boss Eddie Howe were seven years old the last time Bournemouth beat Derby in a competitive game in 1985.

“Hopefully, 29 years later we can put that record right,” said Tindall.

“Derby are a really good side and a big force in the division. They have started this season well and will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.”

  • Cherries' Sky Sports-televised Championship fixture at home to Brighton has been pushed back 24 hours to Saturday, November 1 (5.15pm).

Brighton had originally been faced with the prospect of two games in 48 hours, with their League Cup tie at Tottenham scheduled for Wednesday, October 29.
