SUMMER interest from Derby is not on the mind of Simon Francis - with requests from eager family members weighing heavier on his shoulders.

The 29-year-old full-back was the subject of two failed bids from the Rams and then committed his future to Cherries when he signed a fresh three-year deal in August.

Ahead of tonight’s Championship clash with Steve McClaren’s side (7.45pm), Francis revealed he had given no thought to facing his summer suitors.

He told the Daily Echo: “It’s just another game for me - if anything I’ll be thinking about how many tickets I need for my family.

“All my family are from Nottingham which is close by, so I know they will ask for tickets.

“What happened in the summer is dealt with and I’m delighted that I signed a new contract. As everyone can see, I’m enjoying playing my football and I couldn’t be happier.”

Francis starred in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Wigan and bagged his first goal in the Championship in seven months when he finished off a flowing team move midway through the second half.

The win was Cherries’ first in the league since August 16 and the former Charlton man believes momentum is now with the Dean Court side.

He said: “I think we’re hitting form as a team at just the right time.

“The gaffer (Eddie Howe) said this would be an important week and that if we could pick up some points ahead of the international break then it would stand us in good stead.

“I don’t want to speak too soon but our luck turned on Saturday in terms of not conceding and scoring more than once.”

Winger Ryan Fraser is available for Cherries this evening after he missed Saturday’s win with a minor calf problem.

The youngster, who last featured in the 3-1 home defeat to Leeds a fortnight ago, trained yesterday and has been passed fit.

South African striker Tokelo Rantie is still being monitored daily as he builds up his fitness following a recent injury.

Both midfielder Harry Arter and defender Steve Cook are one yellow card away from an automatic one-match ban.
