MANAGER Tom Killick hailed Poole Town’s progress ahead of their 14th anniversary at Tatnam but boldly declared: “We haven’t finished yet.”

Dolphins entertain Hungerford Town in the Southern League Premier Division tonight (7.45pm) 14 years to the day since the club’s first match on the site – a 1-1 Hampshire League draw with Ringwood.

Since taking over in 2004, Killick has masterminded Poole’s return to former glories but remains adamant that the key to success lies with focussing on the future – starting with promotion to Conference South.

Killick told the Daily Echo: “Anyone who was at that first game will be aware of the progress we have made as a club and the improvements made to the ground within the restrictions of current location.

“There has been a remarkable transformation in the standard of football as well but we haven’t finished yet. There is still a lot to improve on and off the field, even if it is getting more and more difficult because the level we’re at is massively competitive.

“I have always said that I want to take this club to the Conference South and while that is a very tall order it is definitely achievable. We might have come a long way but there is no way we want to stand still.”

Steve Devlin is a doubt after picking up a knock against Hereford United on Saturday, while loanee Mike Gosney has returned to Gosport Borough with Killick confirming he has no plans to renew the deal.
