BOSS Adie Arnold saw Christchurch gain another valuable league victory before urging his side to maintain their Sydenhams Premier purple patch.

Lowly Priory defeated Brockenhurst 4-2 at Hurn Bridge which took to seven points out of nine their recent run.

Marcus Cullen put the home side in front and after the Badgers levelled with a free-kick, a Callum Cunniffe-Pilley double made it 3-1.

The visitors pulled one back in the lead-up to the break but a Gareth Barnes header late in the second half ensured a Christchurch victory.

Reflecting on his team's improved form, Arnold told the Daily Echo: “I'm dead pleased with seven points out of nine.

“We didn't get too down when we were struggling and we won't get too carried away now we're getting a few more points on the board.

“The important thing is to keep the points ticking over. We've stretched the gap on the bottom two and we've brought the pack above us a little bit closer.

“It's nice to have a few home games coming up and we've got the likes of Fareham and Poppies who are around us, so it's a big month.

“It's taken a bit of time to get it but there's a good feeling in the dressing room now. We're playing with a bit of confidence.

“I hope I don't tempt fate but we seem to have stopped shipping silly goals and we're scoring a few as well.

“Gareth Barnes has made a massive difference up front as he has given us some presence and taken the pressure off Jack Lovell.”
