ASSISTANT boss Jason Tindall is convinced the tide will soon turn for Cherries, providing they maintain their high performance levels.

Tindall was speaking after Cherries had been held to a 0-0 draw by Championship rivals Blackburn at Dean Court yesterday.

The stalemate extended to five games Cherries’ winless run, although defeats for top two Derby and Middlesbrough saw them gain ground on the leaders.

Tindall said: “It was another frustrating game for us where we dominated possession and created a number of good opportunities. Unfortunately, it was also another game where we didn’t take them.

“Their goalkeeper was in fantastic form and made two world-class saves from Marc Pugh and Yann Kermorgant.

"That is the way it is going for us at the moment so it is important we remain positive and keep creating the chances. You can’t keep not winning games with the number of chances we are creating.

“We haven’t won for five games but could quite easily have won them all. From our point of view, the most important thing is that our performances have still been good.

“You have to stay positive and we are in a fantastic position. We are only three points off an automatic promotion spot and we haven’t won any of our past five games. That just goes to show how competitive the division is.

“Our performances have been excellent and, if we can continue to perform like we have and start scoring the chances we are creating then no points and one point will turn into three points.”

Tindall added: “We won’t get sidetracked by any negativity. We will stay focused and concentrate on our performances. We are confident we will win games.

“There will always be people out there just waiting for a slip-up and waiting to criticise. That’s football.

“The main thing is within the group we believe in what we are doing and are confident. Our performances have shown that and we have dominated the majority of games which we haven’t managed to win.

"No result is ever predictable. We are confident, if we can keep delivering the performances, the results will follow.”
