CHRISTCHURCH boss Adie Arnold insists his thoughts will remain focused on Hurn Bridge during tomorrow’s nerve-shredding relegation showdown.

Priory, Fareham and Totton & Eling are set to fight it out for 19th spot and the guarantee of safety in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier.

Arnold’s men, who take on high-fliers Winchester (3pm), are locked on 29 points with 19th-placed Fareham but possess an inferior goal difference, while Totton & Eling are bottom on 28 points.

And even though Christchurch’s survival prospects are out of their hands, the boss will resist the opportunity to keep an eye on matters elsewhere.

Arnold told the Daily Echo: “I’ve got no doubts that people around the ground will know how Fareham and Totton & Eling are getting on but I will look at the other results after the final whistle.

“It’s a very difficult situation - you can get caught between two stalls. You can worry about other sides and situations that can change very quickly.

“Of course, if I hear Fareham are 2-0 down, I’m not going to go gung-ho. But we know we have to get a result so all we can do is look after our end.

“We can’t take our focus off Winchester. It’s a really tough game and our minds have to be on it and not anywhere else.”

Jon Grace is 50-50 with a back problem but Martin Smith is set to return to the squad.

Fareham travel to mid-table Andover while Totton & Eling are away to Horndean.

  • Striker Luke Stone is set for a return as Wimborne Town wrap up their Southern South & West campaign at home to Didcot Town tomorrow.

Manager Steve Cuss has a full complement to choose from apart from back-injury victim Matt Kemble.

In the Wessex League Premier Division, Bournemouth Poppies end their campaign at Bemerton, Hamworthy United host Moneyfields, Lymington entertain Folland Sports and Verwood Town welcome Whitchurch (all 3pm).
