IPSWICH manager Mick McCarthy reckons everyone can benefit from Tyrone Mings’s record-breaking move to Cherries.
The left-back’s big-money move to Dean Court was reportedly worth up to £8million with Cherries winger Ryan Fraser going the other way on a season-long loan.
Brett Pitman also switched to the Tractor Boys in what is understood to be a separate deal.
Mings was plucked from non-league Chippenham Town with Ipswich offering a £10,000 fee for the 22-year-old despite him being on non-contract terms with the Southern League outfit.
McCarthy said: “We have done well out of it in terms of the money that will help us rebuild. We took two great players in Brett Pitman and Ryan Fraser who will give us a stronger squad.
“It is brilliant. I think it is great for him and having spent next to nothing on him, to get the money we did was a remarkable deal for a Championship left-back.
“If he does as well as Aaron Cresswell did – he won every player of the year award going at West Ham – it will be great for him as well and I think Bournemouth have got a good deal.”
