WESTOVER & Bournemouth Rowing Club enjoyed five victories at their 150th anniversary regatta held on Bournemouth seafront.

No fewer than 12 clubs took part with boats completing a 2km course adjacent to the beach with a buoy turn at Bournemouth Pier.

Rob Shaw and Josh Williams won the junior pairs and then triumphed in the fours and the three boroughs race against clubs from Poole and Christchurch, after they had been joined by Jon Solly and Gian-luc Angiolini.

Junior ladies Danielle Elmy-Liddiard, Alicia Bramwell-Weeks, Roseanna Bramwell-Reeks and Libby Perry, coxed by Anna Nolan, also had an emphatic win. That success gained them promotion to senior level next season, making Perry one of the youngest senior rowers on the south coast.

The Bramwell-Reeks sisters secured the first Hants & Dorset ladies’ junior pairs title, which had been made a championship event before the season start.

The duo had won all six of their previous races up until the Bournemouth round and an additional success on home water meant they earned the title.
