CHERRIES defender Steve Cook hopes former housemate Wes Fogden can rebuild his career at Yeovil.

Fogden spent a two-and-a-quarter year spell at Cherries prior to his release in January last year.

The midfielder then joined Portsmouth and last summer sustained a serious knee injury which restricted him to nine appearances in 2014-15.

Fogden subsequently penned a permanent deal at Yeovil earlier this month and could meet Cook on the field in tonight's friendly at Huish Park (7.45pm).

Cook told the Daily Echo: "It will be good to have a catch-up with Foggy. When I first signed for Bournemouth I was in digs with him in Westbourne as I already knew him from Brighton.

"It will be nice to see him again and, hopefully, he can have a good season with Yeovil.

"I expect he's looking forward to his time there. He was out for a long period last season and probably has a lot to prove this year."

Cook was not involved in Cherries' 0-0 draw with Nantes on Saturday but he explained that clashes with Philadelphia, Exeter, Salisbury and the French side had been beneficial.

He added: "The games I've been involved in have been good and, hopefully, I can get some more minutes against Yeovil. It will be a tough test both mentally and physically.

"We've played a variety of teams and it's done like that for a reason. You need teams that will test you and a mixed bag is good."
